A group of IEDM board members, students, and faculty recently met at the Organization of American States (OAS) for an event graciously hosted by Ambassador Alfonso Quinonez. Amb. Quinonez, Secretary of External Relations at the OAS and himself an IEDM board member.
The students conducted a presentation of their Applied Research Projects (ARP's) and discussed their career goals, while the board and faculty gave constructive criticism and advice to the students in both arenas. Afterwards, the group networked, further discussing student ARP's and job opportunities. Finally, Amb. Quinonez and the OAS staff provided a tour of the OAS, showing rooms that have hosted various political powers and even a secret underground tunnel, demonstrating the long history of the organization and its important presence to Washington, D.C.
