The Department of Economics faculty and students are committed to advance the science of Economics by contributing to its theory and empirical application with rigor and innovation in a variety of fields. It recognizes that the human person is at the center of the economy, and that economics is at the service of humanity. In line with the mission of The Catholic University of America, it seeks to discover and impart the truth through excellence in teaching and research.
We aim to:
- Teach students so they can work effectively and serve others through their professions
- Contribute to the advancement of a humane economic science through theoretical and empirical research
- Contribute to the reduction of poverty by offering our technical skills when working with and for those who are in need
We encourage students in the Department of Economics to have at least one internship during their time at Catholic University. Opening your doors to interns during the fall, spring, or summer, allows our students to work to build professional experience. If you are able to offer an internship or job opportunity for students, please contact us.
The Department of Economics needs your help to support our continued dedication to our students, projects, and programs. You can provide financial support to specific areas: scholarships, research, or area of greatest need. The most helpful contribution you could make now is a donation via check.
