Charles Busch
Charles Busch is the Business Analyst for the Political Risk, Credit and Bond team at AXA XL, a division of AXA. Previously, he interned with the US House of Representatives and the Center for International Trade and Economics at the Heritage Foundation.
Charles graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in January 2018. As an undergraduate, he studied abroad in Rome and Oxford and was a member of the President’s Society.

Virginia Birkofer is a Data Science Consultant with Deloitte. Building cloud architecture to leverage Artificial Intelligence tools to manipulate big data into tangible solutions.
Virginia graduated in 2018 with an International Economics and Finance - Honors major.

Christian Domaas
Christian Domaas is currently a Project Management Associate with Chemonics International. He works on USAID’s Global Flagship Human Resources for Health in 2030 (HRH2030) project where supprting two portfolios, one of which is a fieldoffice in Senegal. Christian graduated from Catholic University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in International Economics and Finance with a French minor, and in 2017 with a Master’s in Integral Economic Development Management (IEDM). During his time in the IEDM program he helped design and implement an impact evaluation for a land rehabilitation and agriculture project in the West Bank of Palestine. He has a strong passion for international development, particularly in the areas of climate change, resilience, sustainability, health and the environment, and WaSH. He is a dual Swiss-American citizen, loves to ski, is an avid baseball fan, and at one point was the CUA Mascot “Red”. -
Samantha Coviello
Samantha Coviello is a Credit & Political Risk Associate Underwriter at Zurich Insurance Company. She joined Zurich in June 2019 through the Underwriter Trainee Program and is based in Washington, DC. Before joining the team in June, Sam interned with the Americas team in the summer of 2018. Sam earned a BS in International Economics and Finance from the Catholic University of America in Spring 2019. Sam lived abroad in Rome, Italy while at Catholic University and is proficient in Italian. -
Kevin Kamto
Kevin Kamto is a research associate at American Institutes for Research in Washington DC. Mr. Kamto’s work covers several evaluation studies covering topic areas including Education, Early Childhood Development and Agriculture. Mr. Kamto is currently an associate quantitative researcher on studies in Senegal, Madagascar, Laos, Bangladesh Timor-Leste and Cameroon. His contributions to these evaluations include, sample selection, theory of change development, instrument design, data cleaning and analysis as well as report writing. Mr. Kamto holds an MA in Integral Economic Development Policy from the Catholic University of America and BA in Economics from the State University of New York, Plattsburgh. -
Natasha Backman
Natasha is a 2015 Economics alumni who completed a Teach for America commitment in Baltimore City. She taught middle school special education and while concurrently receiving a Master's from Johns Hopkins University. Then, Natasha supported the Chief Management Officer of the Department of Defense as an analyst, working on Category Management. She currently is an analyst at the Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, tasked with scaling AI and machine learning capabilities. In her free time, Natasha likes Orange Theory and cooking. -
Allyssa Aclan
Deeply rooted in her Filipino culture, Allyssa has a passion for helping and caring for those in need. Allyssa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, and has almost 4 years of experience working in the private sector. At the age of 24, she decided to give up her job in New York City to pursue a Master's Degree in Integral Economic Development Policy at the Catholic University of America. Inspired by her advisers and her thesis work in Palestine, Allyssa wanted to pursue a career working on impact evaluations. Today, she works as a Monitoring and Evaluation Associate with Women for Women International. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys reading, exploring new coffee shops, attending live music shows, and spending time with her loved ones. -
David Ricardo
David Ricardo Corrales holds a Bachelor of Arts in General Business from Marymount University, where he was the recipient of the Dean’s List and the Marymount Senior Leadership Awards, and a Master of Arts in Integral Economic Development Management from the Catholic University of America.
David currently works as the Grants Specialist of the USCCB’s Collection for the Church in Latin America, managing a grantmaking process to build the capacity of Catholic initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to this position, he was the Program Coordinator of the USCCB Secretariat for Cultural Diversity in the Church, where he managed projects in support of national ministries to migrants, refugees and people on the move in the United States. He has previously worked as Grants Administrator for the USCCB Collections for Africa and Latin America, consultant for the Executive Secretariat of Integral Development at the Organization of America States (OAS), and Operations Manager for NeoNiche Strategies. David serves on the Executive Board of the Catholic Migrant Farmworker Network (CMFN). He is originally from Nicaragua, is married and has two children.
