This month, Dr. Behad Nowroozi and two of his Econ 480 students attended a panel discussion at the World Bank on Trading for Development and GVCs (Global Value Chains). The rest of the students in 480, a course on international trade, were required to watch the event live online.
The panel is part of the World Bank’s Annual Meetings Program of Seminars. Dr. Nowroozi and seniors Serena Viti and Jean Higgins benefited from a fascinating discussion by the Chief Economist of the WB and two ministers of finance/economy from Mexico and Finland. They covered trade and the Global Value Chains and how GVCs continuing to boost growth, create better jobs, and reduce poverty.
